A MOTORIST who was almost three times the drink drive alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 18 months at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Judith Hunt, 59, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened as she returned on the A72 to her Skirling home after being in Biggar on April 26.
When police called at her home she had a breath/alcohol reading of 103 microgrammes - the legal limit being 35mg.
Tessa Bradley, prosecuting, said police had received an anonymous telephone call expressing concern at the manner of which a Suzuki Swift was being driven.
Hunt’s lawyer admitted her client had alcohol issues and that she had returned home because she realised she should not be driving.
In addition to the ban, Sheriff Peter Paterson imposed a £300 fine.
