A NOSTALGIC picture which featured in the Peeblesshire News has been a blast from the past for readers.

On our 'Looking Back' page within the edition on Friday, October 6, we published a picture from the 1970s of a class from Broughton Primary School, sent in by Robbie Wilson.

The image received a huge response after we posted it on our Facebook page, with 34 reactions, 33 comments and 12 shares so far.

Readers got in touch with us and took to our page to comment and put names to the young faces.

Camilla Younger said: "I am in the photo. Front row sitting on a bench, looking at the photo right. I can remember some of the names and think the photo was circa 1976. Hilarious to see it again after all these years, thank you for publishing it."

On Facebook, Margaret Wilson said: "Robbie found this photo a few weeks ago and thought it would jog a few memories. If not at least a laugh... the teacher was Miss Hewitt. Top left to right... Ian Heggison, Steven Hope, Stuart Little, Barcley Duncanson, Willie McAllister, Tam Maxwell, Stuart Howieson, Tom Veitch, Walter Weir.

"Second row left to right... David Jackson, Andy Ironside, Andy Blacklaw, Lesley Carruthers, Paola Renucci, Caroline Sterricks, Janet Dickson, Michael Crawford, David Weir. Third row left to right... In reply to Margaret, Ann Davidson said: "Well done Maggie for naming them all. Some folk have not changed much. Angelic wee Robbie."

Sandra Howieson commented: "Oh it's good to see you all."

Jill Philp added: "Wow Fiona Jamieson, you've never changed."
