POLICE have confirmed that two men, aged 19 and 26, have been charged in connection with the theft of an ATM from a Premier Store in Innerleithen.
The incident happened on Monday, September 4.
The men have also been charged with culpable and reckless conduct and road traffic offences. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Inspector Tony Hodges of Galashiels Police Station said: “I would like to thank the local community who greatly assisted our inquiries in relation to this incident.
“We are still conducting inquiries are still ongoing to trace and identify a third man involved in this incident.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101, quoting incident number 0358 of September 4, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
