RESIDENTS at Peebles Nursing Home have been treated to an early Christmas present from the Hydro Hotel.

A total of six pensioners from the Tweed Green home were invited by Spa manager, Jade Masters, for a relaxing mini-spa afternoon earlier this month.

The six residents were given relaxing hand massages, a file and polish for their nails, and their day was rounded off with servings of cakes and coffee.

Gemma Brown, activities coordinator at Peebles Nursing Home said: “The idea behind this was that the hotel wanted to do something nice for the local community in the lead up to Christmas.

“Having obviously only returned in recent months to our permanent home on Tweed Green, our residents were kindly offered first invitations.

“On behalf of the residents who accepted the offer, I really wanted to thank the Peebles Hydro, and Jade and Mandi, the spa therapists, in particular.

“The afternoon they put on for us was a really lovely way to bring our residents into the community at Christmas time. The girls were so incredibly warm to our residents and the trip was a highly uplifting experience for them.

“We really couldn’t thank the Hydro enough for their inclusion and kindness; which in turn echoed the generosity of the many Peebles people who went to great effort to donate presents to our residents last Christmas, whilst we were away from home.”

After 20 months of restoration and refurbishment following floods at the turn of 2016, residents and staff moved back into Peebles Nursing Home in September.
