A PEEBLESSHIRE charity is inviting you to get your glad rags and dancing shoes on in a bid to raise funds and support local children.

Peebles Youth Trust works across Tweeddale to assist children during the transition years from primary to secondary School.

And to raise much needed cash to support their valuable work in the community, organisers are hosting their second fundraising ball, Achieve-a-Ball, at Peebles Hydro on Saturday, April 28.

The Trust engages with all nine primary schools in the area and Peebles High School to provide support and guidance to young people with a view to realising their full potential.

Local volunteer mentors work with children to achieve tasks together, to raise their confidence and self-esteem.

Programme manager Sarah Keen, explained: "Peeblesshire Youth Trust is currently working with more children than ever before, so it is necessary to continue its vital fundraising activities to enable this."

There is a fabulous range of raffle prizes to be won, as well as an exceptional auction, which includes the opportunity to bid for local chef Ally McGrath of Osso to cook dinner for four in the comfort of your own home. And for rugby fans, there is a signed Scotland shirt from the recent victory match over England.

Tickets are now on sale at £45 per person which includes a glass of fizz on arrival, a three course dinner, and a fantastic night of entertainment from the hugely popular local band – The Back Green Band, featuring Evan Balfour from the Taylor Brothers.
