A PEEBLES author with a love of nostalgia has released a new book about the town.

In the follow up to her two previous books, which look back on the town across the decades, photographer and writer Liz Hanson has published 'Peebles History Tour'.

The book, which features an array of colourful and monochrome photos, gives an in-depth insight into the broad history of the ancient Borders town, and shows how much it has changed during the course of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Readers are invited to follow in the footsteps of Liz with the map of the town in the book. The publication acts as a guide for residents to walk through the streets and alleyways, pointing out the well-known and less-well known landmarks along the way.

Born in Kidderminster in 1950, Liz moved to Edinburgh in 1968 and has lived in the Borders for 35 years.

Qualified as a medical technician, her career in microbiology was spent between Edinburgh hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.

Photography has been a long-running passion and hobby for Liz since her teenage years and she now runs a business making photographic books and cards of Borders landscapes.

The publication is priced at £7.99 and is available to buy in local bookstores and at www.amberley-books.com
