A PEEBLES-based community music school hopes to drum up support with a call for more volunteers.

The team at Nomad Beat, who provide music tuition to nearly 200 pupils across the area, have launched a rallying call to urge more people to help out.

In addition to the music groups, along with workshops and concerts which the school run across year, Nomad Beat also provide a specialised service called 'Breaking Sound Barriers' to allow those with disabilities to learn and create music.

Ruth Kirby said: "At Nomad Beat, we rely on the goodwill of many volunteers, but we could always do with a few more. In particular we need people to man the front desk, even just as emergency cover. Note well, you do not need to be musical to do this.

"There are other ways in which volunteers could help too, so if you are looking for a rewarding way to help in the community then please contact us."

To book lessons, join one of the school's music groups, or to volunteer, contact the Nomad Beat office by calling 01721 722472 or email info@nomadbeat.com
