ORGANISERS of Manor Sheep Dog Trials have given cheques of £1,000 each to Motor Neurone Disease and the Margaret Kerr Unit.

The money was raised from a charity dinner dance held at Peebles Rugby Club in February.

The dinner was provided by local farmers from Haystoun, Blyth Bank, and Hundleshope and there was entertainment from Peebles Ex-Servicemen’s Pipe Band, singer Peter K, and a youth Scottish dance band.

During the evening there was a raffle, with various prizes, and resident auctioneer Jim Currie held an auction where donations were received from MacDonald Cardrona, Stobo, Kelso Races, Hibernian Football Club, Kailzie Equestrian, Julie Hill Dog Training Lesson, Logs from Alan Brown, Mrs Barr’s pancakes, and the Magic Slippers. Many Thanks to all who attended and enjoyed the night and donated extremely generously to a great cause. Also thanks to all who donated the above items to raise the money at the auction, and to Haystoun Farm, Hundleshope, and Blyth Bank for donatinglambs.
