The future of the building has been in doubt since the business was closed, nearly a decade ago.

But the community rallied round to buy the beleaguered building.

And now the final opportunity to help shape exciting proposals for the redevelopment of the Crook Inn at Tweedsmuir - one of Scotland’s oldest pubs - will be held on Wednesday, January 21.

WT Architecture will hold a workshop in Tweedsmuir Village Hall. The aim of the project is to redevelop the Crook Inn to serve the Upper Tweed community and wider tourism.

The vision is for a multi-purpose development that builds on the 400 year-old history and the listed art deco features to create a stylish modern conversion. The format of the workshop will be similar to the previous workshops in August and October. Drop-in sessions, giving opportunities to look at and discuss the plans, will run from 3pm to 8pm. The design team will hold question and answer sessions at 4pm and 7pm.

Duncan Davidson, chairman of the Tweedsmuir Community Company, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to contribute to plans prior to applying for planning permission and funding in the near future. All are welcome.”
