A PEEBLESSHIRE lighting company has received a national award nomination for the quality of its work.

Innerleithen-based Scotlight Electrical was shortlisted in the Best Delivery of Customer Service category at the Select Awards 2015 in Glasgow earlier this month.

Select is Scotland’s trade association for the electrical industry and the Select Awards, which celebrated their 10th anniversary at the ceremony in the Radisson Blu Hotel, recognise the highest standards in the industry, focusing on safety, innovation and customer service.

Scotlight Electrical was nominated specifically for its work installing LED lights at Lamancha-based Glenrath Farms – a giant in the UK’s egg-producing market.

Ross Meikle, the project manager at Glenrath Farms, said: “Scotlight provided us with an extremely professional service throughout the installation of our new Egg Processing Plant.

“The project was of a very large scale and Scotlight was able to give us more than adequate resources and knowledge.

“All their work was completed to a very high standard. The guys on site kept the place neat and tidy. They were also able to help and offer advice on jobs as the project progressed.”

Ian Campbell, managing director at Glenrath Farms, said: “It was great to be able to choose a local company who could meet all our needs for such a large installation. We are very happy with the end result.”

The award nomination is the latest in a series of awards that specifically recognise the quality of Scotlight’s customer service.

In November 2014 Scotlight was nominated for the Customer Service Excellence Award at the prestigious Herald Family Business Awards, and in April 2014 it was crowned Town Centre Business of the Year at the Scottish Borders Business Excellence Awards.

Scotlight also has a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars on customer-satisfaction portal eKomi.
