CONCERNS have been raised over the sudden closure of Innerleithen Post Office.
The town's branch, which moved to a new premises across from the Corner House Hotel in early 2015, was found closed on Thursday, September 29.
A resident got in touch with the Peeblesshire News to air their concerns.
The resident said: "Its ridiculous this branch has suddenly closed without any prior warning for local people. In these circumstances, the Post Office should provide some cover to enable services to continue.
"It affects hundreds of residents in the area, who now have to travel up to Peebles or along to Walkerburn in order to send their post until the branch re-opens."
The closure of the Innerleithen branch is temporary and is set to re-open as soon as possible.
A Post Office spokesperson told us: “We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Innerleithen Post Office. This is due to operational reasons.
“We are working hard to restore services to the area as soon as possible. In the meantime, customers can access Post Office services at any branch including Walkerburn Post Office.”
