THE gardens at Innerleithen's Glen House will be open to the public for the second time in a year this weekend.

On Sunday, September 24, visitors are invited to bring along a picnic and enjoy the views from the terraces surrounding the Scots Baronial mansion, which was designed by David Bryce in the mid-19th century.

District organiser Lesley McDavid told us: "The first hint of autumn colour has appeared in the trees and there is still plenty of colour in the long border and courtyard. Sunday's event will offer the chance to chat and learn with friendly fellow gardeners."

Funds raised from the day will go towards The Conservation Foundation.

Refreshments will be available and entry is £5, accompanied children free. Further details are available at www.scotlandsgardens.org
