TWO Tweed Valley businesses are calling on the community to help them win national awards.

Tweedlove Bike Festival and the Tontine Hotel have both been shortlisted for Scottish Mountain Bike Awards. The UK’s biggest bike festival is in the running for the Scottish Event of the Year and the Mountain Bike Community Project of the Year titles, while the Tontine Hotel in Peebles is nominated for the Mountain Bike Friendly Accommodation Provider of the Year prize.

Both businesses need as many people to vote for them online before November 12, to help bring the coveted titles to the Borders.

Tweedlove Director, Neil Dalgleish said: “It would be amazing if we could bring all three of these titles to the Tweed Valley and help secure our place as the best biking destination and festival in the UK.

“We couldn’t deliver Tweedlove without the help of our amazing volunteers, local business partners, sponsors, and every single person in our community who welcomes local and visiting riders to our roads and trails.

“Being crowned Scottish Event of the Year and Mountain Bike Community Project of the Year would be a great way for us to say thank you to them for their truly enduro-style support.”

Tontine Hotel Owner, Kate Innes said: “Everyone at the Tontine Hotel is delighted to be nominated for such a prestigious award. We’re proud to be located on the doorstep of the UK’s best cycling routes and our team works hard to make sure our biking guests get the perfect balance of adrenaline fuelled action and relaxation during their stay with us.”
