Three hundred and fifty people attended the Standard Bearer’s Ball held in a specially-erected marquee at St Ronan’s Community School..
Included in their number were visiting principals from Peebles, Galashiels, Selkirk, Lauder, West Linton, Penicuik, Lanark, Musselburgh, Currie and Edinburgh.
Music for the dancing was provided by the the Back Green Band and the Lynne Kemp Duo.
The Standard Bearer’s Reel was danced at 11pm with the music supplied by Innerleithen Pipe Band. The spectacle of the reel, accompanied by the Pipe Band, was a highlight of the evening.
The bar was staffed by members of Peebles Ex-Cornets’ Association, Beltane Committee and friends.
