STAFF from Lloyds Bank have been getting stuck in to volunteering work at a Peebles school.

Partly developed by a group of parents whose children are involved in the Additional Needs Department, the bankers gave up their time to help create outdoor seating areas for staff and students at Peebles High.

Alan Stewart from Peebles School told the Peeblesshire News: “We also hope to develop the quadrangle outside my office for use with the Complex Needs students as an outside sensory area.

“We have secured funding for this project from various sources, parent fundraising, Lloyds Bank and Scottish Borders Council. We have also been given a lot of the material from various different companies as a goodwill gesture.”

The first of the three phases took place this week, with the second phase happening in May 2017 once planning permission is secured.

The final phase is set to happen in June 2017, with a the fundraising parents group and Lloyds Bank staff again taking part.

They will return next summer to take part in painting, building and completing the project.
