BOOK-LOVERS in the Borders are getting set for a storytelling spectacle as national book week rolls into the region.

Book Week Scotland, which is taking place from Monday, encourages people of all ages to come together in libraries, schools and workplaces to enjoy reading their favourite stories.

In partnership with the region's libraries, Live Borders has arranged for some renowned writers to give talks on their works, including bestselling crime fiction writer, Lin Anderson; award-winning author and playwright, Tom Murray; local crime fiction author Janet O'Kane; Selkirk FC poet in residence Thomas Clark and local author Gemma Lubbock, who has just published her first novel.

Ewan Jackson, chief executive Live Borders, told the Peeblesshire News: "Book Week Scotland provides an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to discover all that is good about books and reading.
