THE Pensioners Association in Peebles is to hold its next meeting a week early, due to the Beltane week festivities.

The group will meet tomorrow (Wednesday, June 14) at 2.00pm sharp, in the Burgh Hall, High Street, Peebles.

The Community Bus will operate as usual. As the bus is currently run without a bus monitor, all members who require the Community Bus are reminded to phone to book a place, whether they are going one way or both.

Members are also asked to refer to the May newsletter for the one off arrangements to book your seat for the Community Bus for June.

This month's guest speaker will be Angela Hunter, the sculptor of the Turnbull Monument in Hawick.

Her talk will be on the making of sculpture, from the process of inspiration, research, making of the piece and then the process of “Lost wax casting” in the foundry, to installation.

This is the last chance for members to buy squares on the Treasure Hunt map at £2 a square, on sale before the meeting starts at 2pm and the winner will be drawn by guest speaker, Angela Hunter.

Members are also reminded to put their payment of £7, into the Traquair House specific envelope and bring it back to the June meeting.

New members are always made very welcome. For further information, contact Laura Scott (Secretary) by calling or texting 07484 663518, or via email; Peeblespensioners@btinternet.com.
