PLANT lovers in Peebles can expect a little music with their marigolds and magnolias next weekend.

As part of National Chamber Music Day, the highly-talented Karmana Duo will play for an hour in Peebles Community Garden.

Guitarist Simon Thacker and Justyna Jablonska on cello will perform extracts from the spell-binding and soul-stirring Karmana Suite.

With a lifelong devotion to embodying the creative spirit of some of the world’s deepest musical traditions, from India and the Balkans to Andalucía and Gaelic Scotland, Thacker and Jablonska recognise traditions as living forms and propel them forward to inform the present.

The Karmana Duo's performance in Peebles is one of many happening all over Scotland as part of National Chamber Music Day.

Music in Peebles are co-hosting the concert along with hosts, Peebles Community Action Network.

Amy Alcorn from Peebles Community Action Network is encouraging everyone to enjoy the fruits of the garden as well as the strings of the Karmana Duo.

She told us: "Bring a box or bag to take home what you pick and a fold-up garden chair if you need to sit to listen to the music.

"We have a free barbecue provided by The Food Punks of Tweeddale Youth Action as well as free, tea, coffee and juice provided by Peebles CAN.

"We're hoping for a dry day but do bring a brolly in case."

The event, which is free, begins at 11am next Saturday (September 16) with the Karmana Duo playing from noon.
