CYCLISTS in Peeblesshire are being urged to attend a security event for advice on reducing the risk of bike theft.

The Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland are hosting an evening with Police Scotland and bike security company Veloeye from 7.45pm until 9pm at Glentress on Wednesday, November 29.

The event, which will take place on the Upper Floor in Peel Tower at Glentress, will host a discussion with Police Scotland to understand common themes with recent thefts and hear what cyclists can do to prevent them.

It follows a recent survey which highlighted some extra measures that cyclists can take to reduce risks.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: "This will also be an opportunity to voice concerns or issues that attendees have regarding the recent spate of thefts.

"If all else fails to protect your bike, local company Veloeye will also talk about their bike tagging and tracking app service and how they have worked with the Police to reclaim stolen bikes."

Doors open at 7.45pm for an 8pm start.
