A GROUP of women from Peebles known as the ‘Attic Avengers’ have dedicated the next 50 days to a Sports Relief Challenge to raise money for a variety of charities close to their hearts.
The organisations that will benefit include the Lavender Touch, Sick Kids Foundation, Parkinson’s, SAMH and Dogs Trust.
The group has signed up for the 5x50 challenge which has committed them to each running or walking for five kilometres or doing 30 minutes of exercise every day for the next 50 days.
The women have already raised more than £1000 between them and they hope that donations will keep coming in.
Lesley Mitchell, who runs several fitness classes in Peebles, set up the group after some of her clients approached her about setting themselves a challenge.
Lesley has stepped up to the mark, adding walks and classes to her usual timetable. She has signed up herself and is raising funds for the Lavender Touch, based in the Borders.
If anybody would like to hear more about the challenge, or would like to support any of the charities, either as an individual or if you would consider having a whip around with colleagues at work please call Angela on 07429317012 or email: angelapreston7@gmail.com stating which charity.
