IT’S all change at Peeblesshire Youth Trust.
Paul Dickson has been appointed as the new programme manager for the charity taking over from Angie Preston who has moved on to a new role at YMCA Scotland.
Mr Dickson, who lives in Peebles, is currently a volunteer mentor with PYT and has worked in the charity sector for the last three years providing support for children’s charities across Scotland.
PYT runs a successful mentoring programme for young people and has worked closely with the High School on their ‘buddying scheme’ while also running a number of community initiatives.
Mr Dickson is eager to build on the positive progress made by the Trust through his predecessor and the current board and he is working with the existing team to help prepare for the next Achieve Your Potential courses which will engage with all primary schools in Peeblesshire early next year.
PYT are currently seeking new volunteers to help mentor young people and to support other aspects of the Trust’s work. If you would like to help the young children of Peeblesshire achieve their potential or just find out more about the Trust’s work contact Paul at paul@peeblesshireyouthtrust.org.
Mr Dickson is hoping to make a bit of a splash (hopefully not literally) by abseiling from the Forth Bridge on Saturday, October 19. If you would like to sponsor Paul and help secure funds for the Trust’s work you will find details on this and lots more on the Trust’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Peeblesshireyouthtrust
