LOCAL restaurateurs are celebrating gaining a prestigious award for the fifth year in a row.

Osso in Peebles has once again been recognised with the Bib Gourmand in the Michelin food guide. “ We pride ourselves on the quality of our food - it’s all made fresh on the premises,” said Helen McGrath who owns the Innerleithen Road restaurant with her husband Ally.

“Our customers keep coming back, so we have no plans to make big changes though we did make a few alterations when we bought out our business partner earlier this year.” Mr McGrath, the head chef (pictured outside the restaurant right), and his wife are former pupils of Peebles High School and returned to the town to start a family after a spell away.

“We’re in our seventh year at Osso now, We try to offer good food at a reasonable price and we are delighted that it has all gone so well,” said Mrs McGrath.

The couple have branched out and now also run the Laurel Bank at Broughton.

“Laurel Bank is more of a casual place and it offers pub-style food but we still aim for good quality with everything fresh,” said Mrs McGrath.
