LOSS adjuster Steven Webster has been fined after admitting driving without due care or attention near Leadburn.
The 41-year-old from Cathcart Place in Edinburgh was stopped by police on the A703 after being seen overtaking as he approached a bend.
At Peebles Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Procurator fiscal depute Tessa Bradley said: “Officers followed the accused and stopped him.” The court was told that the straight between Leadburn and Eddleston had become an accident black spot.
Defence lawyer Michael Lyon said: “This was a poorly timed manoeuvre. He didn’t know the road and was caught out by the lay-out.” Sheriff Peter Pateron fined Webster £400 and endorsed his licence with six penalty points.
