TEENAGER Raymond Thomson has had his nine-month curfew lifted ahead of standing trial next April.

The 19-year-old from Violet Bank is accused of breaking into his grandparent’s home at Murray Place and stealing £700 on January 29.

He initially appeared on indictment the following day and was bailed with a curfew as part of the special conditions.

The alleged theft has now been reduced to a summary charge.

Defence lawyer Mat Patrick said: “He has been on curfew since January 30 and he has not breached it once throughout his bail.” His bail continued with special conditions not to approach his grandparents or enter Murray Place.

Mr Thomson will stand trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court on April 2.
