IT was a day of breathless fun as almost every one of the 433 children at Kingsland Primary School in Peebles took part in a skipping marathon.
From the nursery class right up to P7 they all joined in the event to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The children skipped in 20-minute intervals right through the day from 9am to 3pm.
“We managed to keep it going continuously from the start of the day,” said a school spokeswoman.
“The wee ones started it off and because they can’t hold a rope they skipped on their feet.
“The children were arranged in blocks of 20 minutes and there was never any point throughout the day - even in our lunch break - when there wasn’t some skipping going on.
“I’m not sure whether we had a particular target in mind but we hope to have raised a lot of money for the British Heart Foundation.”
