EXCITING times lie ahead for a Borders youth club after it secured grants of more than £76,000.

Peebles-based Tweeddale Youth Action was awarded almost £10,000 from the Voluntary Action Fund and £66,100 from the Junior Challenge Climate Fund.

The money will allow the club to recruit more volunteers and give the younsgters the opportunity to take part in a climate change project.

"This is great news for us - and it's going to allow us to do so much more," said locality manager Dave Hodson.

The Junior Challenge Climate Fund is a Scottish government initiative - and will encourage the youngsters to embrace climate change.

"We are especially keen to promote cycling and we will be asking the youngsters to make up all sorts of insane-looking bikes," said Dave
