SHE has already raised £500 for Cash for Kids during their Superhero Day earlier this year.
But Kirsty Thomson, also known as Captain Tea Towel following her appearance on ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway, faced a bigger challenge last weekend.
She completed a sponsored headshave at the Ex Servicemen’s Club in Peebles, with the proceeds once again going to a charity that is very close to her heart.
Kirsty, 37, lost her niece in May. Ellie Rae Brown passed away aged six months, owing to breathing difficulties associated with being born premature.
“Ellie spent a lot of time at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children,” explained Kirsty.
“My sister Emma and her partner Keith don’t have a car. Cash for Kids came forward and helped them with all of their travelling costs. It was a big help at a very difficult time for them.” “The coffee morning was amazing. We had a fantastic turnout. All the stalls sold out and our tea and coffee girls and boys were run off their feet. “The people of Peebles have done us proud once again. The coffee morning alone raised £1000. My head shave went well I didn’t have time to get nervous and it was over and done within minutes. I am still collecting my sponsorship money for that, so the total is rising.” Donations can be made via JustGiving on Kirsty’s facebook page.
