CARE services across Tweeddale are about to be taken over by a new company.
Independent Living Services have won the right to provide the services to the central Borders and Peeblesshire areas following a tendering process by Scottish Borders Council.
Social work contracts at the moment are carried out by Border Caring Services and Helping Hands across the Tweeddale area.
But department director Andrew Lowe doesn"t believe the changes will cause much upheaval for either carers or service users.
He told the Peeblesshire News: 'It is likely that staff who work for the existing external home care companies will have the right to transfer to the new providers with their job and associated terms and conditions of employment protected.
'Although there will be a period of transition for external home care, I am pleased that we have secured the best quality services available for the people of the Borders.'
The new contracts are due to start in early May.
