Interest in former Priorsford Day Unit

A FORMER NHS day care centre in Peebles may be about to be turned into a £350,000 family home.
A change of use application has recently been submitted for the landmark Priorsford building at Tweed Green.
And it's sale could cover a large slice of the bill for NHS Borders' proposed health hub at Hay Lodge Hospital.
The property which originally served as a nurses home, adjacent to the original Peebles War Memorial Hospital has been on the market for well over a year.
However it is currently under offer with a change to residential use application being lodged with Scottish Borders Council last week.
If sold, money from its sale will be put by cash-strapped health chiefs towards the setting up the much heralded health hub at Hay Lodge.
At present Ward 2 at the hospital is being converted to cater for patients from Priorsford and Firholm Day Centres.
It is hoped by bosses that having several departments such as day care facilities, GP's, social workers and community nurses, all under one roof will better allow the pooling and sharing of knowledge.
NHS Borders Director of Estates and Facilities, David McLuckie said: "Priorsford is currently owned by NHS Borders, but has been on the open market for sale and is currently under offer.
"It has been used since the closure of the hospital as a Mental Health Outreach Centre by the organisation. However this service is being transferred to Hay Lodge Hospital as part of NHS Borders plans to develop a health hub at the hospital.
"NHS Borders has been working for some time to develop this health hub to enhance local health and social care services for the Tweeddale area.
"This will provide improved facilities for a range of services including additional GP consulting rooms, improved rehabilitation facilities and improved access to mental health services and a new, co-located social work day care and day hospital facility."
In a statement last year NHS Borders chief executive, Calum Campbell, said of the health hub: "The Tweeddale project will create an innovative health hub which will shift the balance of care to support people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
"Taking this forward will require an investment in the region of £600,000."
