Sea Moods exhibition
A wonderful display of paintings inspired by the sea is on until 29 September at the Gallery, Tweeddale Museum, Peebles.
From the Highlands and Islands to the Solway Coast in the West and Berwickshire in the East, each of the three featured artists demonstrates a unique approach to a subject which endlessly beguiles.
Lizzie McCorquodale and Mary Morrison are based in the Scottish Borders, while Ros White works from her studio in Cumbria. All of the works on display are for sale.
Scottish Borders Council's Visual Arts Officer, Elizabeth Hume, explains: "Because the seascapes are mostly large scale, when you step into the gallery you get a real sense of crashing waves and tides ebbing and flowing - a real contrast to the soft, rolling hills of the Borders."
