THE Halyrude Primary School community gathered together at the school to say goodbye and good luck to their Principal Teacher, Mrs Rosemary McKean on her retirement.

Mrs McKean, who has taught in the Borders for 18 years and in Halyrude for 12 years, was celebrating her many and varied achievements with pupils, parents and staff at a special assembly held at the school.

She was presented with a Moy Mackay original work and a basket of flowers as a heartfelt thank you from all the Halyrude School family. Pupils Liam Greig (P7) and Abbie Brown (P1) made the presentation to Mrs McKean at the school get together.

The pupils also sang Mrs McKean favourite hymns and everyone contributed to a thank you book for her to keep.
