Biggar animal charity set sights on Christmas number 1
AN ANIMAL welfare charity from Biggar is hoping to scoop this year's Christmas number one.
The Feufield Trust have recorded a cover of Blondie's smash hit Maria with singer Moira Kerr.
And from sales they hope to create a sustainable future for the animals in their care and provide education on animal welfare.
A spokesperson said: "The single is sounding great, we're hoping that sales go well so we can raise additional funds for the charity.
"We believe all animals benefit from and have a right to fresh air and freedom of movement - they need to demonstrate natural behaviour as much as possible.
"And by helping and understanding animals we become more caring beings ourselves."
The Trust also helps individuals, of all ages and abilities through creating much needed employment and volunteering opportunities in a rural area.
