CAMPAIGNERS in West Linton have thanked Scottish Borders Council after the local authority cleaned up the village war memorial just days before Remembrance Sunday.
It followed complaints that the tribute to local war heroes had fallen into an unkempt state.
Speaking ahead of special services across the region this weekend, local resident Tommy Davidson said: "We would like to thank Scottish Borders Council for cleaning and reappointing the stonework on the village's war memorial in advance of Remembrance Sunday."
