A BORDERS car dealership is putting all of its eggs in its Peebles basket.

And David Harrison believes the move will see the company will go from strength to strength.

The company has traded in Peebles for 37 years - and expanded to Galashiels more than a decade ago.

But following the expiry of a lease on the Wilderhaugh site they are driving back to their hometown.

Managing director Robert Harrison told the Peeblesshire News: "After having traded in Galashiels since 1999 our lease on the premises at Wilderhaugh is expiring and we are taking this opportunity to merge the business at Galashiels with Peebles.

"We have worked hard to minimise employment loss and are in fact bringing with us most of the team to Peebles thereby fully investing in our business to provide the very best service to our customers throughout the Borders and beyond.

"Whilst moving any business can be a challenge we have a great team in place to help grow our Ford Dealership in Peebles and the Accident Repair centre in Innerleithen and we view the changes as a positive step thereby ensuring that we go from strength to strength.

"Our commitment to the local community is as strong as ever."

The Harrison Ford dealership in Galashiels will close next Monday with many of the staff being relocated to Peebles.
