BADMINTON players at West Linton Primary received a trophy for being School of the Month.

As revealed in the Peeblesshire News the school beat off competition from dozens of other primaries and secondaries across the country to land the Badminton Scotland accolade.

Badminton Scotland were particularly impressed by the effort that was being put into inclusion and participation.

And they also highlighted how the school is steering pupils down a pathway which leads to further participation at an increased level.

Badminton Scotland praised the enthusiasm and drive to signpost players to both school and club badminton which has helped increase the school affiliation numbers for the Borders area over the past few years.

A special recognition was made for the coach, Lily Stenhouse, who has run the club for many years. Lily is also the school dinner lady.
