SATIRIST Rory Bremner has launched the 2016 Cash for Kids calendar.

A dozen striking images of the region were selected by judges to appear in the calendar.

And it is expected the fundraiser will be hanging from hundreds of walls up and down the country following the new year.

Charity Manager Candy Rafferty said: “It is hard to imagine that within this stunning countryside there are children in desperate need.

“We are seeing a massive spike in the number and value of appeals coming in to us, and are constantly seeking new ways of meeting these needs.

“This calendar will do just that.

“It’s the perfect present for anyone living here as well as those who have moved away and are missing home.

“Each one sold will help a local child.” Mr Bremner joined radio presenters Keith Clarkson and Iain Waugh at Jedburgh’s Visit Scotland office last week to launch the publication.

The calendar features landscape images taken in the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland.

It will be on sale at Tourist Information Centres across the area, as well as many other shops and offices, priced at £7.50.
