DONALD Trump has banned Irn-Bru from one of his Scots hotels - because it might stain the posh carpets.

The five-star resort 'Trump Turnberry' has removed the famous drink from sale following a £200 million refurbishment.

The ban came to light after guests at an event asked for the fizzy refreshment but were refused - although Coco-Cola and other soft drinks are still available.

Turnberry general manager Ralph Porciani said: "We don't serve Irn-Bru in the public areas.

"We don't have £120,000 carpets in the staff areas like we do in our guest areas and private suites."

Trump Turnberry, in South Ayrshire, was chosen as Scottish Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards last month.
