CELTIC midfielder Nir Bitton spectacularly shut down a troll who slammed him for congratulating Israel for winning the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Israeli footballer shared a picture on his Instagram Story of fellow Israeli Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai in which he congratulated her for taking the top spot on Saturday night.
A follower replied back to Bitton, “F*** you,” followed by, “Out our club!”
Bitton, 26, shared the exchange, mockingly telling his 73,000 followers, “This boy need some love.”
He also replied back to the troll, “Haha shut the f*** up...I’ll be here till my last second of my contract.”
Celtic fans were quick to jump to Bitton’s aid.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “This guy is giving Nir Bitton grief on Instagram because he was supporting the Israeli winner of Euros***vision. He’s our player. Don’t abuse him. Simple.”
Another said: “Well played, son! Fans abusing him for his nationality need to have a word, p*****!”

“For all he infuriates me as a player, the treatment Nir Bitton receives off of some our fans for his nationality is absolutely shocking,” was another comment.
Israel’s entry Netta won the contest with her song TOY, which featured an unusual chicken dance.

As she collected her trophy, she said: “I’m so happy. Thank you so much for choosing different, thank you for accepting difference between us.
“Thank you for celebrating diversity. I love my country. Next time in Jerusalem!”
The UK’s singer SuRie came 24th out of 26 entries, with many on social media blaming the lack of points on Brexit.
