A MAN has been cleared of sexually assaulting a woman with intent to rape almost three years ago following a three day jury trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Twenty five year old Mark Alan Harvey was alleged to have committed the offence in a caravan in Deanfoot Road, West Linton, on February 11, 2012.
But during his evidence he said the woman willingly carried out a sex act on him but was annoyed later on when he would not give her any money to buy food.
Harvey, of Dumbeg Road, Edinburgh, was found not guilty of the charge.
