TWO West Linton sisters are London bound to perform in their chosen hobbies.

Libby Davidson and Zoe Davidson are heading south later this year to showcase their talents for horse riding and acting.

Libby came first out of 41 competitors to help her Peebles High School (PHS) Equestrian team qualify for the Showjumping UK National Championships near London in October. The 15-year-old starting riding at the age of seven, and has been the show champion at Tweeddale Pony Club for the last two years. She spends two hours every week night and 14 hours mucking out and riding over the weekend.

She said: "I'm so pleased to have been able to help the PHS Equestrian team of six qualify two teams for the National Finals."

Meanwhile, her 13-year-old sister Zoe has been chosen by her Stagecoach School to take part in a Charity Gala Performance for the musical 'Hairspray' in London's West End Shaftsbury Theatre in December .

Zoe has been dancing since she was three and at the age of 10, started stage school in Edinburgh. So far, she has been treading the boards with small parts in Oliver at Edinburgh's Playhouse Theatre and at Glasgow's Kings Theatre in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Zoe said: "Like my older sister, I'm also really excited to be given the opportunity to perform on a West End stage in London. I hope I make everyone proud."

Proud father Tommy Davidson added: "Myself and my wife Angela both hugely admire our girls commitment to their chosen hobbies and we are so proud of their achievements."
