SIR, Although Peebles has an ancient history of archery (including the Peebles Silver Arrow, one of the country’s oldest archery trophies), it is sadly lacking in a club today!
Archery is one of the most inclusive sports available, where people of all ages, genders, and abilities can compete together, but unfortunately the nearest clubs are in Penecuik and Hawick - not realistic for regular practice.
I am therefore looking into the feasibility of setting up an archery club here in Peebles. I would very much like to hear from any other other Tweedale residents with any experience in the sport, who might be interested in such a venture. I can be contacted by email at ian@spinningfish.net.
I am, etc.
