WHITEHILL gaffer Grant Carnie is enjoying away days in the Lowland League after his team chalked up their fifth straight win on the road at Selkirk.

But the former Cowdenbeath player admits his home form will need to improve if his team are to challenge for the title.

After watching Callum Connolly’s double as well as goals from Ross Nisbet and Darren McGlashon give his team a 4-0 win at Yarrow Park,

Carnie said: “That’s 15 points we’ve taken on the road yet we’ve only managed one point from our home games.

“We need to improve our home form but I believe we can and I believe we can stay towards the top of the league.

“I thought every one of my players was fantastic today.”

Chris Mckee, Shaun Harrison and trialist Ouzy See were all on target as leaders Edinburgh City beat BSC Glasgow 3-1 at Lochburn Park.

Aiden Ferris netted BSC’s consolation.

Former Spartans striker Keith McLeod scored for his former boss Micky Lawson as Vale of Leithen beat Edinburgh University 2-0.

The 37-year-old trialist admitted he will now sign for the Victoria Park club. Mcleod told us: “I have not scored for ages so it was great to hit the net again.

“I wasn’t sure if I was going to play football again after leaving Spartans but Micky Lawson has been pestering me, and it looks like I will be signing.”

A last minute strike from Anton Brady kept East Kilbride in contention at the top as they left Islecroft with a 2-1 win over Dalbeattie Star.

Jack Smith had earlier equalised for Kilby after Lewis Todd opened the scoring for Star.

David Bonnar and Colin Galbraith were on target for Gala Fairydean Rovers as they drew 2-2 with Cumbernauld Colts at Netherdale.

Andrew Selkirk scored both of the Colts goals.

Gretna stayed in contention with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Preston Athletic at Raydale Park.
