Peebles Rovers 5

Coldstream 2

PEEBLES Rovers went into this league encounter at home to Coldstream on the back of 7-0 defeat away to Leith last week, but Dale Richardson and Jim Young were restored in the heart of the defence.

It was the home side that started the brightest when a Daniel McAleavy corner was met by the head of Richardson on 15 minutes but his effort went just wide of the post. It was 2-0 just before the break when after a scramble the ball finally fell to Jason Darling who slotted the ball past the Coldstream keeper.

Three minutes into the second half O'Hara's men went 3-0 up when Darling whipped in a free kick and it was met by the head of Edwards.

But the visitors fought back. And 12 minute later they pulled one back through their number 9.

It was 4-1 seven minutes before the end when a cross was put into the box my Chris Taylor it was missed complete by Flockhart but luckily enough for the Rovers substitute Paul Murray was at the back post to tap home from about six yards.

A minute before the final whistle Peebles were awarded a free kick, it was Darling that took it from the corner edge of the box and it sneaked in at the near post to make it 5-1.

Into stoppage time and the visitors got a consolation goal from their number 10 on the rebound after Walker had parried the original shot.
