Borders 17-18 Glasgow A

THE Borders U15 netball squad, sponsored by Caldwell’s Homemade Icecream, travelled to East Kilbride at the weekend for the first of 3 days of play in which they take on 11 other District squads from the south of Scotland.

In the first day of play the top U15 Border players faced tough opposition in the form of Glasgow and South Lanarkshire’s A squads, in addition to the best of Renfrewshire and Argyll and Bute.

On their first District outing the youngsters gave a thrilling account of themselves, pulling off 3 straight wins and losing to Glasgow A by only one goal in the final minutes, having led for most of the match.

Borders must secure a place in the top half of the south District section to qualify for finals day in 2016. Their victories at the weekend have given them a good start to their campaign.
