Hawks 27 Jets 21

Hotshots 56 Gala 4

Arrows 48 Tweeddale Tigers 21

Dragons 52 Borders U15s 19

Bullets 68 Pumas 10

ALL ten league teams played at the weekend, with the matches producing a new leader at the top of the table as the Bullets toppled the Dragons for top spot on goal difference.

The most exciting match was first on the bill with Hawks yet to secure a win and fighting for their first few points of the season. Matched almost equally on court with the Jets, it came down to the team with greatest desire for the victory, with the Hawks just holding on throughout the game to run out winners.

Other matches went to form and despite Gala signing up a few additional players from Lauderdale Ladies, Hotshots took their game by storm.

Vast improvements from the Tigers were reflected in their 21 goals tally against the much more experienced Arrows and will provide them with confidence going into their next matches.

The young Borders squad produced a solid performance against the Dragons but were simply outplayed on size and strength. Bullets took advantage of a slightly weaker Pumas squad with several players not available for play, to rack up a sizeable goal difference, taking them above the Dragons on the cumulative league table by the narrowest of margins, only 3 goals.

Next weekend brings the top two teams, Bullets and Dragons head-to-head for the top of the table showdown with their match taking place at Peebles High School games hall at 5.15pm. The league action starts at 2.45pm with Gala taking on the Pumas. Spectators welcome. Entry is free.
