PEEBLES U13's sealed the Border Netball League for the sixth year on the bounce with an emphatic by 35-0 rout of Hawick at the weekend.

Since October five U13 teams from across the Borders have battled it out to become league champions and the destination of the trophy was in the balance right until the final weekend.

Earlston, Peebles and Hawick A all had designs on the league title and and it was ultimately the final day clash between Peebles and Hawick that would prove decisive.

With strong partisan support for Peebles, the home team dominated the match from the start, and Hawick were quickly reeling. Peebles flow was evident, led by versatile captain Abbie Sorrell playing GA, WA and C in different quarters.

Not even an ankle injury sustained by regular GK Emma Latto threw the team, with Imogen Lewis ably stepping in to cover in defence.

The fluent performance provided Peebles with the scoreline they required and a win over Hawick A to secure the title for Peebles for the sixth year in succession. Previous points earned gave Earlston the runners-up spot, with Hawick A picking up third place.

Peebles U13s: Abbie Sorrell (Capt), Emma Latto (Vice Capt), Ruby Finn, Imogen Lewis, Hannah Little, Lily Robertson, Molly Saxon, Eleanor Smith, Melissa Watts, Emily Wilson.
