ONE of the country's leading endurance clothing manufacturers has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with Peebles Cycling Club.

Sealskinz has been a market leader with new products and technologies since the launch of its first waterproof sock in 1998.

The company's products are available in 40 countries around the world.

And they will be worn with pride by the growing membership of Peebles Cycling Club.

Sealskinz Marketing Manager Matt Boyce said: "Sponsorship of Peebles Cycling Club was an obvious choice for us – they are a well-established award winning club who are inclusive in their approach.

"We know they will be great ambassadors for our Sealskinz brand and we look forward to working together for the benefit of all.

"Plus, many of us know all too well what the weather can sometimes be like in the Tweed Valley and so we are happy to help!’’

The collaboration will allow Peebles CC to benefit from Sealskinz support for club events and grass roots activities that are open to club and non-club members throughout the year.

The Peebles club has seen its membership grow steadily over the last decade and now boasts a membership of over 300, with riders from the age of seven up to 70.

Amongst the members are Enduro World Series competitor and Trek Factory team racer, Katy Winton, and World Cup XC racer, Lucy Grant.

But the club has never lost its focus on bringing on and supporting young riders.

It also has a hugely relaxed and sociable feel with anyone and everyone made welcome.

Club Chair Richard Semple is delighted with this latest boost for the Peebles cyclists. He told us: "We are absolutely thrilled that Sealskinz have come on board as our club sponsor.

"There will be very few of our members who don’t own a Sealskinz product – riding doesn’t stop just because it’s wet and cold, and lots of us have been very grateful to Sealskinz technology which has allowed us to go further for longer’’.
