PEEBLES Netball has already produced two Scottish Thistles and a total of five Scotland U23 squad players, and a call up this week for 15-year-old Bryony Patterson, captain of Peebles U17 Bullets looks likely to place another Peebles player in contention for future Scotland honours.
Bryony, recently selected for the East of Scotland Netball Development Centre, impressed in defence at a practice match versus Cheshire County, and subsequently received an invite from national coach Gail Parata to take part in a new U17 Scotland Development league.
The league involves four teams made up of 20 Scotland U17 long squad players and 20 players selected from the four Development Centres across Scotland.
Gail Parata said in her email to Bryony: "It is also an opportunity for you as a young aspiring Scottish Thistle and U21 World Youth squad member to show the national selectors your potential."
Bryony’s first match in the elite league is tomorrow (Saturday) with other matches through to end April.
