PEEBLES Netball Under 17 players Bryony Patterson and Kazya Stevens took one step closer to national selection at the weekend, playing in two days of U17 national development league matches.
Both were talent identified earlier this year for participation in a 20-strong East Development squad, along with three of their Peebles Netball clubmates, Sophie Peterson, Rianna Sterricks and Kirsten Rodwell.
However, Bryony and Kazya have since gone one step further, selected for Netball Scotland’s U17 Development League, a new venture bringing together the national U17 squad plus those on the cusp, in a few weekends of match play under the guidance of national coaches.
Bryony and Kazya will go on to trial in June for the Scottish U17 national squad, their national development match experience putting them firmly on the radar.
