CARDRONA'S Lucas Cheskin knows Lee Pen pretty well.
As well as living in the shadow of the 1647-feet Innerleithen hill he conquered it on Saturday.
The teenager held off a strong challenge from some of the region's best off-road athletes to break the tape in Victoria Park and collect the £100 prize.
Gala Harrier Fergus Johnston was 13 seconds further back in second.
And Cheskin's Moorfoot training partner, Andrew Cox, finished well to take third place.
Rachel Lees from Penicuik Harriers was the first lady home.
A total of 24 athletes completed the gruelling three-miles race.
